Contemporary Artists from Ukraine
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection

Texts by Luciano Benetton, Solomia Savchuk, Olexander Soloviov

A collection strongly linked to the current events Ukraine finds itself facing and to the changes this country - historic crossroad between the Baltic and the Black Sea, between Europe and Asia - has undergone in recent years.
140 works by both young, emerging creatives and established artists present in the most important museums and galleries who, with strength and passion, reflect a society that is still reinventing itself amid instability, ideological and social change, cruel conflicts; continuously looking for new ways to reflect on history and assert a new artistic freedom. With a variety of styles and techniques ranging from optical effects to landscape-sculptures to the magic of 3D, the individual stories of the artists become the creative fragments of a wider story of Ukraine today.

Ukraine: Short Stories. Contemporary Artists from Ukraine is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.
