Contemporary Artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection

Texts by Luciano Benetton, Manuela Da Cortà, Vildana Dervisbegović

Bosnia and Herzegovina - from Bosna, the river whose source lies near Sarajevo and means "flowing water", and Herzegovina which etymologically means Duchy - and its artists. 140 established professionals, teachers in the most prestigious academies and institutes, protagonists of the national and international scene, alongside young emerging artists in search of their own cultural dimension. An unprecedented creative narrative of a borderland, a gateway between East and West. A mosaic of visions that, in the spirit of Imago Mundi, nullify differences in ethnicity, religion or wealth, and urge us to look beyond them. Because often, wrote the Nobel Laureate Ivo Andrić, hope and the future are on “the other side”.

Bosnia and Herzegovina: Currents of water and art
is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.

www.imagomundiart.com is the web platform of the entire project
