Contemporary Artists from England
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection

Introductions by Luciano Benetton, Pernilla Holms, Francesca Gavin

“There is a fascinating story behind each name, and each canvas, included in this book,” writes Pernilla Holmes, curator of England: Talking of Art, in her introduction to this catalogue, “I hope anyone looking through will take the opportunity to learn about and further research the great artists on every page. Each canvas is beautiful – not only for its ideas and aesthetics, but for its desire to be part of a global community that says yes...”. Imago Mundi dedicates its 160th collection to English contemporary art: a collection that talks about our real life and its implied and mysterious truth through the creative vision of 132 artists, both masters that have already been written into the books of art history - such as Richard Long, Langland and Bell, Jake e Dinos Chapman, the late Susan Hiller and many others -, and many young artists with brilliant practices.

England: Talking of Art. Contemporary Artists from England is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.
