Y-Paraguay - Imago Mundi
Contemporary Artists from Paraguay
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection
Texts by Luciano Benetton, Ticio Escobar, María Eugenia Ruíz, Félix Toranzos
The artistic reportage of contemporary Paraguay through the work of a free creative community, driven by an intense, passionate and luminous experimentation, supported by deep-rooted indigenous and colonial aesthetic traditions. 141 works and visions realized by as many artists - painters, designers, engravers, sculptors, photographers, graphic designers, fashion designers and even audio-visual producers – all connected by a big, lively, collective theme: water and its eternal course which, like art, surrounds us, flows through us, creates and interacts.
Y-Paraguay. Contemporary Artists from Paraguay is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.
